Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, September 3, 2008 Margaret S. Phelps, 92, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in Newport Beach, Calif. She was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Westfield, N.Y., to Clinton and Norma Sheldon. She moved to Lake Havasu City in 1999 from Malibu, Calif. Margaret loved to travel and entertain her friends and family. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, gardening, crossword puzzles and dancing. She was a member of the Lake Havasu Republican Women’s Club. She is survived by her children, Michael Phelps, of Malibu, Margo Burns, of Lake Havasu City, Barbara Phelps, of Palm Desert, Calif., Douglas Phelps, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; grandchildren, Chris Parrett, of Rigby, Idaho, Kelly, Kyle and Katie Phelps, of Malibu, Calif., Preston and Shaun Phelps, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; great grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Christian, and Sara Margaret of Rigby, Idaho; and brother, Dunston Sheldon, of Oregon. To Mommy: A mother’s love should be cherished above all life’s memories. In her eyes, the look of loving, in her heart and smile the warmth of caring. In her hands the touch of comfort, in her heart the gift of sharing. My mother gave me the wonderful gift of life. Life gave me the wonderful gift of my mother. I love you Mommy, with all of my heart and soul forever.
