Max Jarrett, 89, died of natural causes, Thursday, Aug. 12,[2010]in his home surrounded by family.
Mr. Jarrett was born in Morris Chapel, Tenn. He served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He moved to Flagstaff in 1962, teaching math at both junior high schools and selling real estate. He loved hiking, crossing the Grand Canyon from the north to south rim in one day. He had a immense love for God and family.
He is survived by his children, Max Jr. of Willcox and Carolyn Jarrett of Flagstaff; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florene; parents Ben and Meda; and brothers Leon, Johnny and Ben Jr.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Norvel Owens Mortuary, with a public viewing from noon to 12:45 p.m.
