SHULZE, Mark Allen

Mark Allen Shulze, beloved husband and brother, passed away Aug. 1, 2010. He was born June 12, 1945, in Evanston, Ill., to Marcus and Margurite Shulze. Mark joined the U.S. Army in 1968, and became a Specialist in Communications. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service during the Vietnam War. He met the love of his life, Lynn Ellen Janson, in Pomona, Calif., in September 1972. Mark and Lynn were later married on Jan. 20, 1973, and moved to Grand Terrace, Calif., before finally relocating to Lake Havasu City. Together they have spent the past 30 years both working and living at Havasu Springs Resort. More than anything, Mark enjoyed spending time with his wife and Labrador retrievers. He had a passion for all things outdoors, including fishing and hunting, and loved working on classic cars as a member of the Over the Hill Gang. Mark is survived by his wife, Lynn Shulze; sister, Marissa Smajstrla (Chuck); nieces, Monica Olsen (Eric), Kayla Olsen, Sam Olsen, Erin Janson, Elaine Janson; and loving dog, Hannah. A celebration of Mark’s life will be in August at Havasu Springs Resort. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Mark’s memory to the charity of your choice.
