Daniel John McGaughey was born on Oct. 7, 1992 to Deanna and John McGaughey. From the moment he came into this world, to his passing, Daniel would face many challenges. These challenges he would face head on showing no fear, for many times he had no choice. His strength of character was one to admire.
While one could say he struggled with Autism, if you knew Daniel, then you knew that Autism struggled with Daniel. From his many, “I make you happy” to his “get out” Daniel never failed to make you laugh or smile. He had an infectious laugh that would light up a room. If you met him once, you wouldn’t forget.
Daniel wanted to be a pirate or a police officer when he grew up and have his whole family live with him. He was a junior at Globe High School. Daniel joined his big brother Robert John and his papa Ruben Gonzales in heaven on Aug. 15, 2010.
He leaves behind his mom, Deanna Gonzales; his father, John (Christie) McGaughey; his sister, Ana Alicia; his brothers, Tyric, Joseph, J.C.; his grandparents, John and Louise McGaughey, Jimmy and Susie Castaneda, and his grandmother, Alice (Ruben) Gonzales, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. When we remember him, he will always bring a smile to our face.
Services for Daniel will be Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 with visitation beginning at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Services will be held at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami, Arizona.
Assisting the family is Lamont Mortuary.
