GREENWELL, Dixie Lee

Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa August 18, 2010 DIXIE LEE GREENWELL, SUN CITY, ARIZONA Dixie Lee Greenwell, 48, of Sun City, Ariz., died peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 14, 2010. Dixie was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in St. Charles, Iowa. She graduated from Stuart High School and continued on to Iowa Falls Community College. After college, she worked for the Marriot Hotel in Des Moines for numerous years. She then moved to Arizona in 1998. Dixie loved reading books, watching the History Channel, traveling, and spending time with her great-nephews, Josh and Cameron. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Parke Greenwell; and a sister, Lynn Ann Basner. She is survived by her mother, Pat Greenwell of Sun City, Ariz.; brother, Jerry Jr. (Barb) Greenwell; brother, Richard (Cindy) Greenwell; brother, Vic (Sandy) Nelson; brother, Jon (Shelly) Greenwell; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. A celebration of her life will be held later in September in Earlham, Iowa, at Penn Cemetery.
