Bill was born in Dinuba, CA to Henry and Grace (Rayborn) Rowell. Bill loved playing high school and college football in Bakersfield. Sports were always a family pastime.
Bill entered the Navy in January 1942, as an Aviation Machinist Mate; Flight Airship Wing 31, stationed in Norman, Okla. He then went to NAS in Santa Ana, Calif., where he met and married 'the pretty girl in the malt shop', Aline Hewlett in 1944.
Bill worked for Hobbs Trucking in Anaheim, Calif., for 38 years, loving his job and the company he worked for. Aline and Bill lived in Orange until her death in 1985. Bill moved to Lake Havasu City in 1989.
Along with his beloved wife, Aline, Bill is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul "Bud" Rowell.
He leaves behind is daughters, Jill (Russ) Swafford, of Portland, Ore., and Janet (Richard) Kruse, of Lake Havasu City; family and best friend, Richard Lae, of Lake Havasu City; the Rowell family, of Ridgecrest, Calif., and the Hewlett clan of California. A special thanks to Wanda Hewlett, of Lake Havasu City, for all the love and support she gave to the family.
Bill's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to John and all at Haven House for caring for their dad in his final days with such respect. Also to all at Hospice who showed such care in every way for him and his family. "We will always be grateful."
