Richard Gale Boden passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at home in Lake Havasu City. He was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Hazelton, Idaho ,the son of loving and caring parents Roscoe and Dorothea Pickett Boden.
He married his best friend and sweetheart, Glenna Woodbury on April 29, 1940. They were sealed to each other in the Las Vegas L.D.S. temple on Sept. 13, 2003. Gale owned and operated three outstanding portrait studios in the Salt Lake Area. In 1951 Gale joined KSL-TV and along with Paul Aleander Bisping set up the KSL News Department.
Gale was one of the early pioneers in the field of local television reporting. Gale had a real sense of news and along with his integrity, fairness and dedication in reporting the news he won many awards and citations in his long television career. One of the highlight’s of Gale’s career was accompanying the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on its first USA / Canada concert tour.
Gale and Glenna moved to Lake Havasu City in 1972 where he engaged in real estate for Gosnell Builders and The Pointe Resorts residential community.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna; daughter, Diane (Jeff); sons, Chad Boden and Richard (Deanne) Boden; seven grand children; five step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 504 N. Acoma Blvd, Monday at 10 a.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
