COLE, Robert Allen (Bob)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ December 7, 2007 Robert Allen "Bob" Cole, 77, of St. Johns died Nov. 26, 2007, at the RTA Hospice in Pinetop-Lakeside. Cole was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and moved to Tempe at the age of 13. He graduated from Tempe High School in 1949 and attended Arizona State University for one year. He joined Arizona Game and Fish and in 1954 moved to St. Johns. Cole met and married Dorothy Neal in July 1955 where he lived out the rest of his life. He retired after many years from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Apache County as a master gardener. The family also had a small ranch in New Mexico. This was his love. Cole was an outdoorsman; he loved hunting, trapping, camping and Indian artifacts. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he held many positions of responsibility. Cole is survived by his wife, Dorothy, children Robert of St. Peter, Minn., Howard of Mesa, Clifford of St. Johns and Kevin of Mesa; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Cole of Phoenix and Bill Cole of Higley; and two sisters, Alyce Cole of Tempe and Susan Rogers of Mesa.
