Wayne Stephen Charette, 60, of Lakeside died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at his residence. Wayne was born Sept. 9, 1947, in Norwalk, Connecticut, the son of Elmer and Margaret (Crain) Charette.
Wayne was raised and attended school in Connecticut. He received his nursing degree in New York. He lived in Marysville, Calif., for 10 years. He married Linda Fischler Taylor Feb. 14, 2002, in Monterey, Calif.
He came to Arizona nine years ago, working on the Navajo reservation at Chinle. He came to the White Mountains in 1999. He worked at Navapache Regional Medical Center and later as a traveling nurse for various agencies. Ill health forced his retirement five years ago. He enjoyed music and singing, history and archeology and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Christy Watson of Scottsdale and Nicole Anello of Tucson; two brothers, Bill Simpson of Marysville, Calif., and Scott Simpson of Miami, Fla.; stepson Vince Swartz of Kingman; four grandchildren Kelly McBride of Orangevale, Calif., Ashley Anello of Lake Havasu, Bianna Schuessler of Tucson and Sarah Swartz of Kingman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services are pending.
Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary in Show Low.
