Edward Legros, 91, of Concho died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Infinia at Show Low.
Mr. Legros was born March 30, 1916, at Johnson City, Ill., the son of French emigrates Edward and Melina Legros.
He was raised and attended school at Hastings and Patton, Pa. He worked in the mines before entering the U.S. Army in 1941. He served in the Mediterranean Theater (Italy and North Africa) in World War II and was a statistician for the Surgeon General. He was discharged as a sergeant in June 1945.
He lived in Providence, R.I., until 1956, working in Groton and New London, Conn., as an electrician on nuclear submarines. He lived in Colorado for many years, where he owned and operated a service station and garage. He later lived in California, working as a mechanic.
From there he returned to Colorado to retire and do woodwork. He came to Arizona in 2000 and to the White Mountains two years ago. He enjoyed playing cards. He was a member of the Lakewood Masonic Temple No. 139 in Lakewood, Colo.
Survivors include two daughters, Durene Legros-Ferguson (Stanley) of Concho and Lorraine Otstot (Raymond) of Maricopa; three grandchildren Austin Erdman of Portland, Ore., Dawn Onstot of Maricopa and Justin Erdman of Chandler; two stepdaughters, Donna Wallace and Sherri Teter.
Funeral services were held Dec. 17 at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary in Denver, Colo., with interment following in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
