The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ December 21, 2007 12:00 am In loving memory of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Ethel Tenijieth, died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 18, 2007, at the age of 88 years old. She was born Dec. 8, 1919, at Cedar Creek to John and Beulah (Declay) Cosen. Ethel is survived by her two sisters, Minnie Burnette and Emma Fall, both of Whiteriver; six children, Ona Bush of Cedar Creek, Iva Malone of Whiteriver, Thomas Tenijieth Jr. of Whiteriver, Chris Tenijieth of Whiteriver, Norma Henry of Cedar Creek and Alfonso Tenijieth Sr. of Cedar Creek; two traditional god-daughters, Sonja Rogers-Burnette of Whiteriver and Joenah Caddo of Cibecue; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Ethel was proceeded in death by her husband, Thomas Tenijieth Sr.; brothers Ross Cosen and Russell Cosen; sister Lydia Gregory; children Fritz Tenijieth Sr., Spencer Tenijieth and Duane Tenijieth; and traditional goddaughter Loretta Dazen. A two-night wake will be held at Ona Bush's residence, 1314 E. Silver Butte Dr., in Cedar Creek starting Saturday, Dec. 22, at 9 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the John F. Kennedy school gym in Cedar Creek Monday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. Ethel will be laid to rest at the family plot in the Mourning Dove Cemetery in Cedar Creek.
