HOLMES, Fred C.


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, August 19, 2010 Fred C. Holmes, 84, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 17, 2010. He was born May 18, 1926, in Alf, Ark., to Ora and Cora Holmes, one of 10 children. After serving in World War II, he moved to Phoenix June 10, 1946. He met and married the love of his life, Carolyn Deal. They shared over 56 years of life together. His greatest delights were his family, hunting and fixing things. Fred retired from A-1 Brewery in 1986 after 39 years of service. Fred and Carolyn moved to Prescott and celebrated 20 more years of marriage, until his beloved wife passed away in September 2006. Survivors include son Fred R. Holmes of Phoenix; daughter Debbie L. Baisley of Prescott; five grandsons, Aaron Walker, Jason Holmes, Jared Holmes, Jacob Baisley and Jeremy Holmes; two great-grandsons, Jeritt Baisley and Cole Walker; one great-granddaughter, Trinity Walker; brothers Charles and Glen; and sisters Rose, Iva Mae and Ida. Private memorial services will be Aug. 21, 2010. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff at the Prescott Veterans Hospital and Hospice for the excellent care they provided. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered in the hearts that loved him and the lives he touched. Information provided by survivors.
