George Rial Freeman died Dec. 12, 2007, at the Veteran's Hospital in Phoenix. He was born in Snowflake to Rial and Fawn Standifird Freeman Sept. 25, 1932.
He was married to Julia George and had four sons, Terry Lee Freeman, Ronnie Freeman, Kent Freeman and Gary George, and one stepson David George.
A lifetime resident of Arizona, he graduated from Snowflake High School and attended Eastern Arizona College in Safford. He enlisted into the paratroopers and served in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and AA.
He is survived by his wife Julia Freeman and all his sons; five sisters, Shirley Montierth, Jeanne (Delbert) Whitmer, Dixie Dana, Marilyn (Darold) Clontz and Sarah McCray; one brother, Standifird Roe (Barbara) Freeman; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Aquila Owen Freeman.
Memorial services will be held Jan. 12, 2008.
