Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Saturday, August 21, 2010 Norman Clark Hamblen passed away at his residence Aug. 18, 2010, at the age of 83. He was born on April 20, 1927, in Webb City, Ark., to Jesse and Frankie (Terry) Hamblen. Norman enlisted in the U.S. Navy May 25, 1944, serving until April 27, 1946. He then joined the Air Force Reserve for almost 10 years, being discharged on Nov. 17, 1957. He worked for McDonnell-Douglas as an aeronautical engineer for 24 years and then worked as a contract mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 12 years at Fort Bragg, Calif. Norman and his wife, Barbara, moved to Lake Havasu City in 2000 from Philo, Calif. He was a past member of the Eagles and Elks in Lake Havasu City. One of Norman’s favorite hobbies was woodworking. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara; sons, Samuel Van Hamblen and Clark Hamblen, both of Buena Park, Calif.; daughters, Dianna Hamblen McKimmons, of Lake Havasu City, and Darlene Hamblen, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers, Thomas Hamblen, of Chino Valley, Larry Hamblen, of Show Low, and Bill Hamblen, of Dallas; sister, Mary Van Buskirk, of Sun City, Calif.; grandchildren, Joseph Clark Hamblen, Sara Elizabeth Hamblen, Luke Van Hamblen, Alisha McKimmons, Brandon McKimmons, Samantha Hamblen, Christopher Moulton, Stephen Moulton and Ashley Moulton; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Clark Hamblen, Marian Best, and Olivia Hamblen; and his aunt, Edith Bonds, of Ozark, Ark., with whom he was especially close. His brothers; Charles and James Hamblen; and his sister, Joyce Bolitho, preceded Norman in death. Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
