EMMERSON, Ron

Ron Emmerson the son of Joseph and Lucille Emmerson, was born December 13, 1941 and entered into the presence of Jesus on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Ron was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and migrated to the United States of America on a permanent visa after growing tired of the cold Canadian weather. He became a US citizen in 1967. Soon after receiving citizenship he enlisted in the military where he served in the United States Army for six years including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Ron and his bride moved to Tucson, AZ in 1973 where Ron worked for Hughes Aircraft Company, later to become Raytheon, and retired after being there for 30 years. He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Ellen Emmerson; his sons, Todd Emmerson (Sara and grandson, Lincoln) of Geneva, IL and Jason Emmerson (Suzi) of Parker, CO; mother-in-law, Doris Wheeler of Tucson, AZ; and his twin brother, Robert Emmerson of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and his sister. More than anything in life Ron loved his family and his church. We are so thankful to God for the story of Ron's life and that we were all blessed to be a part of it. We are thankful for the hope of heaven we have through our Lord Jesus Christ and look forward to seeing him again! A Celebration Service will be held on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. at Pantano Christian Church in Towne Hall (10355 East 29th Street, Tucson, AZ 85748). A dinner reception will be offered to all guests following the service.
