MOORE, Colleen Lynn

(Maiden Name: Frantz)

Colleen Lynn Moore 57, of Tucson, AZ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 6th, 2010. Colleen was born on September 17, 1952 in Tucsola, Illinois, to Harold E. and Beverly A. (McGee) Frantz. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in 1982 and began a career as a Labor and Delivery nurse. Nursing was not just a job to her, it was a passion, and many of times families returned to her personally to deliver siblings of previous babies in their family. Colleen was an incredibly strong and independent woman. She had two children that she protected to no end, and worked two jobs at a time to provide for them. She began a new start in Tucson, Arizona in 1989. She loved Tucson!! She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital Labor and Delivery Unit, later managed the Northwest Women's Center, and finished her career at the Oro Valley Hospital. In 2003 she married the love of her life, Morris Moore, Jr. (a Vietnam Veteran) after eight years of courtship. Morris was extremely charismatic and when he walked in the room Colleen's eyes lit up. Morris was a magician and at times Colleen was his assistant during shows where she was sawed in half. In 2002 Colleen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, though MS was not the cause of her death. Her husband Morris passed away just 18 days prior to her. Her death was very sudden and unexpected; possibly due to a broken heart of being without her soul mate. She left behind her two children and eight grandchildren. She impacted the lives of many people, their families, and pets with her love, selfless attitude, and outgoing personality. She always had a positive attitude and a crazy sense of humor. She is greatly missed and will always be in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her husband. She is survived by her son, Michael Mason and daughter-in-law, Stacie Mason, of Tucson; her daughter, Cherie Little and son-in-law, Keyune Little, USAF stationed in Germany; stepdaughter, Glenda Smith and husband, Ken Smith; and stepdaughter, Angela Moore, all of Tucson. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Shylah Mc Quigg and Helena Mason of Tucson, Braxton, Anissa and Tyson Little, of Germany, Bryant and Miranda Smith, and Alexandria (Lexi) Moore, all of Tucson. Also surviving Colleen are her sisters, Christine and husband, Terry Massey, of Decatur, Illinois; Cheryl and husband, Kevin Marlatt, of Villa Grove, Illinois; and brother, Craig and wife, Julie Frantz, of Mattoon, Illinois. Also left behind is Colleen's beloved service dog, Mesa. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY located at 5401 S.
