Elizabeth Low, known by her friends as Liz, passed away on Aug. 8 in Houston, Texas, just shy of her 91st birthday.
Having visited Remuda Ranch often when the opportunity presented itself, she relocated from Chicago, Ill., to Wickenburg back in 1976. Liz enjoyed entertaining, playing bridge, and volunteering at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. It was Liz and her friend Peach Sexson who began the annual house tour fundraiser for the museum.
She had a revolving door of family and friends traveling to visit her. It was quickly understood by all why it was she chose to live in Wickenburg. Liz would throw parties to introduce her visitors to the great friends she loved there, especially Sophie Burden and her family. Wickenburg was such a special place to Liz, and all her guests shared her delight of the charming desert town she loved.
A memorial service was held Aug. 21 at the Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. She will be buried in Michigan City, Ind.
