Shawn Michael Kays, 54, passed away Aug. 19. He was born March 28, 1956, in Minnesota, to Marvin and Joyce Kays.
Shawn moved with his family to Denver, Colo., from Minnesota, and then came to Lake Havasu City in 2005 to care for his mother. Shawn was one of the caretakers for his ill mother and he loved her with all his heart. If there were a concert in the park, he would be there to take her to enjoy the music. Shawn and his mom would dance and dance without a care in the world and he was always doing something to make us laugh and never cared what any one else thought. He had a very big heart and was a caring guy who loved his family get-togethers, motorcycles, and was a big fan of the Denver Broncos. He was also a beautiful singer and guitar player and would spend hours sitting on the porch with his mom rocking on the swing singing and talking to her. He will truly be missed and always loved.
Shawn is survived by his mother, Joyce Kays, of Lake Havasu City; brother, Terry Kays, of Blackhawk, Colo.; sister, Nancy Humble, of Lake Havasu City; brother, Ron Kays, of Lake Havasu City, as well as three nieces, three nephews and a large extended family.
