John Robert Chalmers, (sometimes called J.C.) was born May 1, 1943, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Robert Andrew Chalmers (who preceded him in death) and Martha Louise Bell who resides in Grants Pass, Ore.
John had one sister, Joan Hively, who resides in Laguna Hills, Calif., and one brother, Mathew Bell, who resides in Grants Pass, Ore.
John graduated from Earl Warren High School in Downey, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army, and later worked for Continental Airlines, was a Teamster Truck Driver for 12 years, moved to Lake Havasu City in 1984 where he retired as general manager for Dal Tile Inc., in 2009.
John married Linda around 1964 and from that union, two children he was very PROUD of, Natalie Chalmers, who resides in Huntsville, Ala., and Robert C. Chalmers, who resides in Santa Barbara, Calif.
John met and fell in love with Kathy, his "Soul Mate" and they were married in 1981. She was the love of his life. They completed each other. He was willing to give up everything for her and vice versa, except for golf. That was his true love. He was president of the Men's Club at Emerald Canyon Golf Course, where he played every Saturday, rain or shine, and any other time he could. And that’s OK, that is when he was the happiest.
Now he is on the Big Green Course in Heaven with the Master Greens Keeper.
John leaves behind his mother, Martha; his loving wife, Kathy; his children, Natalie and Robert; his siblings, many nieces and nephews; brother in laws; sister in laws; their four-legged family members that he and Kathy were fortunate enough to have shared their love with and called their kids, Sandy and Ben. He touched the lives of many and we were fortunate to have known him.
Memorial services will be Friday, at 1 p.m., at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Havasu Community Health Foundation, Western Arizona Humane Society, or Emerald Canyon Junior Golf (Parker).
