Today's News-Herald, Lake havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, August 25, 2010 Marveline Norma Jones passed away Sunday, Aug, 22,2010, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 81. She was born on Nov. 18, 1928, in Elroy, Wis., to Frank and Gladys (Dary) Matz. Marveline and her husband, Harley, moved to Lake Havasu City 18 years ago from Elroy, Wis., and settled into the Islander RV Resort where they made many friends. Marveline was a wonderful mother and a fabulous fisherwoman. She loved to travel to see this beautiful country. She especially cherished her visits with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where she loved the people and her Lord. Marveline is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harley; sons, John Jones, of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Roger Jones and wife, Cindy, also of Hoffman Estates, David Jones and his wife, Debbie, of Rockford, Ill.; daughter, Charlene Jones, of Algonquin, Ill.; brother, Donald Pierce, of Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Matz and Norman Matz, and her sister, Helen Lee. A memorial service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marveline’s name to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.
