Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Friday, August 27, 2010 Jeanne Marguerite Perpich, 88, of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, Aug. 25. Mrs. Perpich was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Las Vegas, N.M., to Ethel and Stanley Pincetl. She and her family moved to Phoenix in 1923. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1939 and Phoenix College in 1941. She married Tony Perpich in 1943 and, during his 30-year U.S. Army career, they lived at Fort Monroe, Va., and in many other locations in the United States, as well as in Japan and Germany. They moved to Flagstaff in December 1969 when he retired from the Army. Mrs. Perpich served as chairwoman of the Coconino County Democratic Central Committee for more than 10 years and was also first vice chair of the Arizona Democratic Party. Since becoming involved in politics in 1978, Mrs. Perpich was instrumental in mentoring many young people and in helping to elect many candidates. Mrs. Perpich was also involved in a wide variety of community activities. For more than 15 years, she served as a volunteer in the transient aid program of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She also volunteered for the society's Christmas food box distribution, Turkey Tuesday and the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club. Mrs. Perpich had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome with her warm and gracious manner. She was a great cook, always baking cookies for meetings and ensuring that her friends and neighbors had an ample supply as well. The family wishes to thank her many friends, as well as the staffs of Flagstaff Medical Center and Comfort Keepers, for their support and service to her and to the family. Mrs. Perpich is survived by her children, Ann (Ken) Miller of Park City, Utah, Jeannie (Dick) Baker of Enterprise, Ala., Tom (Jana) Perpich of Flagstaff and Barbara (Stanley) Lubin of Phoenix; and her beloved dog, Mandy. In addition, she has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Tony Perpich. A service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Newman Center, 520 W. Riordan Road. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Second Chance Center for Animals in Flagstaff.
