Annie Pernell Calahan, 65, of Williams, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, after a long illness.
Ms. Calahan was born Jan. 18, 1945, in Quitman, La., to Helen T. and John Wesley Calahan. She grew up, graduated high school and lived in Quitman, La., until 1969, when she moved to Williams. Since then, she lived and worked in Williams, the place she considered home and made numerous friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her family wishes to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love and support.
Ms. Calahan is survived by her mother, Helen; son Jerome; brother William; sister-in-law Anacorita; two nieces; a nephew; a host of cousins; and numerous friends whom she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Wesley; brother John Willie; and sister Caroline.
A viewing will be Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff. A service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 629 W. Grant Ave. in Williams.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave. Friends can bring food at that time or prior to the service. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com.
