The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, August 26, 2010 Richard W. Lamb, a Prescott resident for 16 years, died at home, surrounded by his family Aug. 22, 2010. He was 79. Richard was born in Hollywood, Calif., on July 26, 1931. He served in the United States Army, earning a Purple Heart during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Richard retired as a store director at Ralph's Grocery Company, where he was employed for over 45 years. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, outstanding father and a loving grandpa and great-grandpa loved life to the fullest. He was an accomplished pole-vaulter and an avid fan of John Wayne. Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charline Ruth Lamb; children Dwight, Rick and Karen Lamb; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was loved much, will be remembered by many, and his family looks forward to being with him again... forever. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, 1101 Sandretto Drive, Prescott, Ariz. The dedication of the grave with military honors will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, located at Cave Creek and Pinnacle Peak roads in Phoenix.
