PIKE, Freda June

(Maiden Name: Kebble)

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, August 26, 2010 Freda June Pike passed away Aug. 11, 2010, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 84. She was born to Edward and Freda (Storm) Kebble on June 22, 1926. Freda married her best friend, Ray Pike, Aug. 28, 1953, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 20 years ago from Anaheim, Calif. She worked as a secretary for the City of Cypress in California for 13 years. She was very proud of her job and she believed in helping the local schools. Freda supported all the local taxes for schools to help the students. When she was younger, she belonged to a dance club where she was one of the “Universal Twirlers.” Freda was the best mother, grandmother and mother-in-law anyone could have asked for. She always put others before herself. She loved all animals and was very spiritual. Freda was the best thing that ever could have happened to Ray. Freda’s son, Spencer said he wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for her. She was not only his best friend but also his mentor and teacher. Her favorite song was “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” We all look forward to seeing her in that rainbow someday. Freda leaves behind her beloved husband of almost 57 years, Sherley “Ray” Pike, of Lake Havasu City; son, Spencer Curtis Pike and his wife Carol; brother, Arthur Kebble; and her two adorable cats, Dolly and Ginger. In lieu of flowers the family encourages you to donate your time or money to the local schools. Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
