LONEY, Ellen Daenel


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 23, 2007 Ellen Daenel Loney, 56, of Scottsdale died Nov. 11, 2007, in Show Low. Mrs. Loney, a retired massage therapist, was born May 14, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio. She grew up in Columbus and attended school, graduating in 1969. Following high school she married Robert Loney May 10, 1976, in Los Angeles, Calif. Following their marriage they made their home in Los Angeles, and she was a homemaker and boutique owner. In 1980 they moved to Clearwater, Fla., where she began working as an image consultant. They also raised their children there. She returned to California briefly before settling in Scottsdale in 1994. It was there that she began working as a self-employed massage therapist. After the onset of her illness she began to decrease her workload but continued to be active in Jazzercise, working in her yard and being with her friends. She was powerfully independent and an inspiration to many. She is survived by Robert Loney of Scottsdale; two sons, Conrad R. Loney and Cooper M. Loney, both of Show Low; daughter Ivy L. Loney of Show Low; two brothers, David Weinberger of Dublin, Ohio, and Rick Schoby of Dayton, Ohio; and sister Jacqueline Zoller of Alabama. A memorial service will be held Dec. 1 at Daenel's home in Scottsdale. She will be laid to rest in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
