James R. "Jimmy" Hendricks, 60, of Vernon died Thursday, Nov. 15, at his home.
Jimmy was born Aug. 18, 1947, in Taylorville, Ind., the son of James and Vesta (Prior) Hendricks. He was reared in Taylorville and graduated from high school in 1965.
Following school, he served a tour in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Phoenix College after coming to Arizona. He was employed by Lucent Technology for 30 years. He moved to Vernon from Buckeye last year. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, woodworking and being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sammy of the home; two sons, Brian and wife Tammy of Goodyear; Jeff and wife Tracie of Surprise; two sisters, Vikki Clayton and Debbie Rodenousky, both of Taylorville, Ill.; brother Mike Hendricks of Taylorville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Shelby Hendricks of Prescott and Brady and Conner Hendricks, both of Surprise; two great-grandchildren, Caden Rodriguez and Parker Findley; two stepgrandchildren, Sarah Ascher and Tiffany Perez.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 19, in the chapel of Black's Mortuary in Show Low. Burial followed at the Show Low Cemetery.
