The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 30, 2007 Elizabeth "Joy" Amos VanCleave died Nov. 24, 2007. She was born May 12, 1936, to Thomas Laverne Amos and Elizabeth Mae Brown in Whiteriver. She resided in Taylor and was a very wonderful and loving wife and mother whose family meant everything to her. Joy was well loved by everyone who met her. She was kind and generous to all those she knew and strangers alike. She will be dearly missed. She was survived by her husband, Douglas G. Sr.; nine children, daughters Noma Bong, Terry Cooley, Dianne Farmer, Janella Moritzky, Jimmi Kizzar, Peggie Allen and Mindy Neff, and sons Douglas G. Jr. and Ryan. A memorial service will be held at the Amos Ranch on the Rot Apache Indian Reservation at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.
