Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, July 2, 2008 Helen Isabel LaForge, 84, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. She was born Dec. 21, 1923, to Frank and Hazel (Wagner) Dobbertein in Marshall, Mich. Helen was a graduate from Marshall High School in Marshall. She retired from the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, Mich., as a packer after 25 years of service. Helen married her best friend Richard LaForge June 6, 1950, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 38 years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge. She had also worked in the deli department at Food Land in Lake Havasu City for 10 years. Helen leaves behind her beloved husband of 58 years, Richard La Forge; daughter, Barbara Jean Green; grandchildren, Michael Green, of Norwich, Conn., and Eric Green of Houston, Texas; nieces, Donna Harris and Cindy Mohn-Moon; nephew, Ronald Harris and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Sophie (Dobbertein) Harris and Lucille (Dobbertein) Mohn. Services will be held at a later date at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall.
