The memorial service for Clifford C. Douglas will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Kasson Methodist Church and officiated by Pastor Karen Seavey.
Clifford passed away Aug. 22, 2010, at Havasu Regional Medical Center due to complications of open-heart surgery. He was born in Spring Valley, Minn., on Nov. 6, 1931, to Merton and Deanna Douglas.
Clifford graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1950. He served as an A & E mechanic in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954, stationed in Spokane, Wash. He worked as a bricklayer in Spokane. He then farmed in Racine, Minn. Clifford then moved to Kasson, Minn., where he worked for McNelius Truck and Mfg. After retiring, they moved to Lake Havasu City.
He married Virginia Helgeson in Spokane, Wash. They had three children, Grace Ann, Cliff Allen and Jerry Lee. They later divorced. He then married Charla Jackson, who had two children, Karen and Ronald. They had one child, David, who has retired from the Air Force. They later divorced. He married Donna Smith in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She had five children, Edward, Cynthia, Caroline, William and Richard. She passed away Jan. 1, 2004, of cancer. Later he married Nelda Bonnett.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Donald, and is survived by his wife, Nelda; children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Evelyn (Arlen) Anderson and Carol (James) Schimek and two brothers, Duane (Elrose) and Paul (Harriet).
