Marjorie Ladene Hudelson Fox died Sept. 19, 2007.
Marge, a 56-year resident of Coronado, Calif., was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Decatur, Ill., to Hazel Dell McDaniel Hudelson and Hiram Kyner Hudelson. She was the older of two Hudelson girls. Her younger sister, Rosemary Jeanne Hudelson Roberts, predeceased her in death August 2004.
Marge was raised on a farm in Macon County, Ill., moved to Decatur Ill., in the 1930s and married Art Fox in 1935. During WWII Marge and Art, who was an Illinois state policeman, also had a service station and trailer park business in Springfield, Ill. After the war, they moved to Coronado when Art became part of the Coronado Police Department. During the 1950s they started Art Fox Electronics, becoming part of the Coronado business community for many years.
Marge, a professional organist and teacher, taught piano and organ in her home. She was also the NAS North Island chapel organist for decades playing for all the various services.
Marge was well known in the music community in San Diego as she was one of the charter members of the San Diego Professional Organists' And Pianists' Club, comprised of teachers, entertainers and official organists for basketball teams and sports arena events. Music was her love. She was an accomplished hostess for the club's monthly jam sessions.
Later in life Marge joined Art (W6HQL) as an amateur radio operator. Her call sign was N6GTB. She enjoyed belonging to the Coronado Amateur Radio Club.
Her husband Art preceded Marge in death March 3, 1998.
She is survived by daughter Judith Fox Taunt and son-in-law Mel Taunt, both of Pinedale; grandchildren Rebecca Taunt Thompson (Rob) of Melbourne, Fla., and Neal S. Taunt (Jennifer) of Carlsbad, Calif.
A memorial service was held Oct. 1 at Solterra Senior Living facility in Lakeside, where she had resided since July 2005. The service was conducted by her daughter Rev. Judy and included her family and her many friends at Solterra as well as those friends from the White Mountains.
