The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 22, 2007 James Mark Benson died Oct. 18, 2007. He was born Dec. 26, 1956, in Tucson. He graduated from Santa Rita High School in Tucson in 1975. James received the John Phillips Sousa award while in the all-state band. He was also a member of the Tucson Boys Band. James served in the U.S. Air Force as a military police officer for 10 years. He was a process server and private investigator in Tucson and the White Mountains for 20 years. He was co-owner of B&B Investigations along with his mother, Darlene Benson, of Pinetop. James is survived by his wife, Karen Benson; his mother, Darlene Benson; and sister Lisa (David) Heffernan and family. His children Amy Yost of Bakersfield, Calif., Heather Benson of Tucson, Tiffany (Alfonzo) Coy of Tucson and James Clinton Benson of Pennsylvania. His stepdaughters Amanda Pillow, Becca Pillow and Libby Pillow, all of Lakeside. He had five grandchildren, Joseph, Melissa, Sky, Stormy and Julius. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Virginia Cortner; his father, Clinton T. Benson; and daughter Katelyn Benson. He was much loved and will be much missed. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Pinetop Baptist Church from 3-5 p.m.
