Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, June 24, 2008 Cathy Darlene Ames, 54, passed away June 18, 2008, in Phoenix. She was born April 26, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to Donald and Maxine (Norman) Barron. Cathy grew up in Michigan, and moved to Lake Havasu City in the early 80's. She loved her work as a nursing assistant at Havasu Regional Medical Center. Cathy moved to Las Vegas, Nev., in 1997, then to Foothill Ranch, Calif., still working as a nursing assistant. She moved back home to Lake Havasu City in 2004 with her lifetime partner to be close to her daughters, grandchildren and father. Cathy enjoyed life each day with a smile. She loved to go boating on the lake, painting, sewing, crafts, taking her grandchildren out for the day and spending time with her family and friends. Cathy is survived by her daughters, Sherry Brennan, Allison Walgren; father, Donald Barron; brothers, Steven and Russell Barron; sisters, Lynette and LaDonna Barron; her four grandchildren, Daisy, Cheyanne, Savanna, Jessica; and her lifetime partner, Jim Barnes. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Barron. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
