Copper basin News Hayden, Az. 09/02/2010 Ivan Henry Stewart passed away at his home in Elk Grove, California, on Aug. 21, 2010, at the age of 89. He was born in Winkelman on Jan. 28, 1921. He lived in Mammoth and attended school there. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II, later returning to Hayden to begin working in the Kennecott Copper Mines in 1948. He retired as a supervisor in 1982. He married Emma Flick and they had one daughter, Nancy. He enjoyed hunting and he and Emma belonged to several bowling leagues throughout the years. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 11 years, Dyce; grandsons, Tim Killebrew and Bryan Killebrew and their wives, Shirley and Alice; five great-grandchildren, Clay, Nathan, Zach, Zane and Hailey Killebrew. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. at Griffith Funeral Home in Kearny. A reception will follow immediately at Constitution Hall (Senior Citizens Center) in Kearny. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice in Mr. Stewart’s name.
