KURBAT, Lois Almyra

Our Beloved Mother/Grandma/Na Na 11/3/1917 -- 12/28/2003- Lois Almyra Kurbat was the wife of the late Hayden Kurbat whom she has now joined in Heaven. She was born in Colorado, resided in California and in later life Arizona. Retired from Safeway Grocery Store in California in 1964 after her husband, Hayden, came in at her checkout stand and said, "Go tell your boss you quit, we're going to do things."- During all her 86 years....she had an absolutely fabulous life. Her late husband, Hayden, made sure of showing her everything he possibly could through their years, took her on trips and they'd seen and done so very much. Her son, Douglas and his wife Nancy made sure that she was taken care of and happy in her final years.- Lois loved Arizona and especially up North in Dewey where she could be in beautiful weather, had lots of wonderful animals to watch, and met a number of new neighbors and friends. She mostly loved it there because she was close to her sons, Carl and Douglas. She said the move was meant to be and she was so happy. - Here is a Lady that was kind, giving, thoughtful and a loving Mother, Grandmother, Friend and Great Grandmother. This was a Lady with personality plus. She loved life and was one heck of a fighter and had a wonderful positive attitude. Once you got to know her, you definitely knew where you stood. Lois had definite ways, knew what she wanted and loved every minute of every day. Looking out from her front porch watching her bunnies and talking to neighbors passing by was one of her favorite things to do. She always said, "Arizona has such wonderful fresh, air and beautiful sunsets. I'm so glad we moved here". - Lois will be missed by her family and her many friends. She is survived by her son Carl, her son Douglas and his wife Nancy, her grandchildren, Kelli, Dina, Brian and Tracey, her eight great grandchildren, Austin, Hailee, Wesley, Brittany, Elijah, Tatum, Taylor and Bailey. - Lois said, "Don't cry for me. Life is what you make of it and mine has been happy and full. I've had a good life and I'll always be with you. Everything is in order, I've seen and done so much in my life. I'm ready, I'm not afraid, and I'll be with Hayden and I know Carl is happy and being cared for".- Memorials may be made in her name to El Zaribah Shrine "Children Transportation" 552 N. 40th St Phoenix, AZ 85008 or Hospice Family Care, 100 E.
