ROLLIER,
Dwayne A.
Dr. Dwayne A. Rollier died suddenly and peacefully at Desert Samaritan Hospital's Intensive Care Unit on December 29, 2003.
He was Assistant Chair and Professor of Industrial Engineering at Arizona State University, where he taught for thirty years until his recent retirement. He and his family lived in Tempe since 1971. In his daily living, Dwayne exemplified Christian values and his love for his Lord, Jesus Christ. He gave himself in love and service to many - strong and weak. He was a best friend to many. Scores, young and old, found their way into Dwayne and Patty's home, heart and mind and they provided rest, shelter, food, and comfort to all. The children and adults who found their way into Dwayne and Patty's home came from around the world. They created a ministry to care for widows, orphans, foreigners, and for babies in need of love and care. Their family grew and grew. Often when asked, "How many children do you have?" Their answer was "We have lost count!" Dwayne was truly a man of God.
Dwayne is survived by Patty, his loving wife of 43 years; daughter Dede and son Matthew; five grandchildren: Matthew, Cassidy, Chelsea, Mariah, and Xavier; three siblings: Bruce, Jeanne, and Allene; "adopted" children and grandchildren: Ke, Sy, Tony, Suzi, Sandra, Joy, Tien, Jennifer, Winnie, Thomas, Jodie, Victoria, Dennis, Brittany, Chantel, Nelson, Frances, Sam, Alan, Mike Ho, Heileigh, Kennith, Yaxiong Lin, Mr. Hung, Aunt Martha, Mabel Smith, and countless others.
Friends may visit with Dwayne's family in Tempe any evening after 7:30 p.m. (480-968-5891). The viewing is Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Ave in Tempe (480-967-1643 for directions).
