Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arzizona Published Monday, May 12, 2008 Joanne Lynn (Clough) Drake, 65, of Lake Havasu City passed away Friday, May 2, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Inglewood, Calif., to Benny Clough and June (Harris) Clough. Joanne attended school in Redondo Beach, Calif. She graduated from Aviation High School in 1960. She married Ronald German in 1960. Joanne worked for Hughes Aircraft Co. for many years in California before moving to Lake Havasu City in 1987. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and loved working as a bartender there and her many customers. Joanne is survived by her mother, June V. Hoapili, of Lake Havasu City; her sons, Mark German and Chuck German, of Ridgecrest, Calif.; her daughter, Deena Drake, of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren, Rebeca, Robert, Rachel, Zachary and Nathan German, of Ridgecrest; her sisters, Joyce Hicks and Janet Kizziar, of Temecula, Calif.; and cousins, Nancy Nash, Ron and Kim Keck, of Lake Havasu City. She was preceded in death by her father, Benny L. Clough, and her stepfather, Alvin Hoapili. All who knew Joanne loved her dearly and will miss her. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Joanne's name to Hospice of Havasu or the Western Arizona Humane Society in Lake Havasu City. A celebration of her life will follow at a later date.
