Ray E.
Ray E. Watts, age 75, of Globe AZ, passed away on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Cobre Valley Community Hospital.
He was born on September 18, 1928 in Baxter County, Arkansas, the son of Lillie Mae (Dean) and Edward F. Watts.
A Korean War Army veteran and recipient of Korean Service Medal with Three Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Ray worked for BHP Copper for 38 years as a production foreman. A member of Word of Life Assembly of God in Miami, Ray was an usher and the pastor's right-hand man. An avid reader, he studied scripture. He also volunteered at the election polls. His favorite times were spent with his family, grandchildren and the family's pets. He enjoyed cooking and made the best guacamole in the west. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him and will remain forever in their hearts.
Left behind in loving memory are: his wife of 23 years, Livi (Gonzales) Watts, whom he married May 28, 1980; 4 sons, Stan Watts (Suzanne Dohrer) of Phoenix Az, Mark Hazelette of Phoenix Az, Christopher Hazelett of Globe Az, and Robert (Kristin) Hazelett of Globe Az; 4 grandsons, Joshua Stephen Watts, Zachary Matthew Watts, Jacob Andrew Watts and Thaddeus Jonathan Hazelett; sister-in-law, Omega Watts; brothers-in-law Robert (Dottie) Gonzales, John Gonzales, Tony Gonzales, Henry (Petra) Gonzales and Jim Gonzales. Extended family member, Heather LeMieux; 1st wife Martha Burline Crites and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. His son, Jonathan "Caravella" Hazelett, his parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
