DECELLES, Odile (Odie) Francis

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ Sat. Sep 4, 2010. Odile (Odie) Francis DeCelles died at her home Aug. 30, 2010. Odie was born in Brooklyn, NY May 18, 1941, to Jack and Francis Garcia. Odie lived in Brooklyn until the time she was 21 and moved to California and later moved to Arizona in 1992. Odie attended a non-denominational Christian church. She loved reading, sketching and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her work as a nurse and caring for people in their times of need. Odie is survived by her sons Bernard Hakenewerth of Snowflake; Thomas (Beth) Hakenewerth of Taylor; Charles DeCelles of Chandler and David DeCelles of Chandler; also by her daughters Naomi DeCelles of Chandler and Elisabeth (Aaron) Banker of Taylor. Odie is also survived by her sister Anita Heath of Studio, Fla. and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Francis Olozaga Garcia. A private burial took place at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor Friday, Sept. 3. Arrangements by Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor.
