SCHOTERMAN, Adele Catherine

Adele Catherine Schoterman 10/16/1918 - 9/2/2010 Adele is preceded in death by her husband, Al and her sweet young (14yo) son, Albert F. She is survived by daughter, Adele Marie; son, Albert W.; grandchildren. Michael P. Egan, Daniel P. Egan, and Adele C. Egan-Allyn. Surviving also are great-granddaughters, Anna Lawrie, Adele C. Baker, Patricia K. Egan, and Riley E. Egan, and great- grandson Kenny Lawrie; two great-great-granddaughters, Saramae and Regina Sherbon, continue the scenario. Sister, Marjorie Zsembery and brother, Paul Groben are Adele's surviving and grieving siblings. In addition are numerous nieces, nephews, and their progeny. Mom had an adventurous, often dramatic life. She and Al successfully owned a variety of small businesses from dairy farm to bakeries, trucking business and finally the very successful G&M Stronghold Restaurant in Sierra Vista, until 1983. Mom was charismatic, entertaining, exasperating, feisty, and generous to a fault. She must have had a thousand stories, and told them masterfully. She was earthy yet elegant, a grand dame, filled with spirit, forgiveness, love, and class. She was and is remarkably memorable. She's my Mom, and I'll always miss her. Service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., Tucson at 11:00 a.m.
