Grace Ellen Jesperson DeSpain
Grace died peacefully from this life the morning of Sept. 1, 2010, after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during the last days of her life.
Grace was born in Chula Vista, Calif. but moved several times in her childhood. She has spent most of her life as an Arizonan. She enjoyed singing, sewing, cooking, reading, watching movies, playing rummy, caring for cats and dogs, playing with her grand-kids, and baking. In 1993, she served an honorable mission with her husband, Earl.
Since that time she continued to be an outstanding missionary always sharing her testimony and giving away Books of Mormon. She was a fantastic wife of almost 59 years. Grace raised six children in the White Mountains of Arizona. She was an astonishing mother, loving grandmother and a proud great-grandmother.
She is survived by her wonderful husband, Earl; her six children Earlene Owsley, who loved her singing, Gary, who adored her tenacious personality and zeal for life, Ken, who claimed that she never gave up; Tamara Pogue, who admired her sense of style; Brad, who appreciated her loving concern for everyone; and Norvin, who couldn't get enough of her bread.
