Cletus Vincent Gretter, 95, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. He was born March 18, 1913, to Aloys and Celestie (Keller) Gretter in Plymouth, Ind.
Clete, as he was known to his family and friends, served under the direction of the United States Navy as a Seabee during World War II. He married Geneva Scott on Sept. 9, 1971, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 18 years ago from Selma, Ore.
Clete worked for the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles, Calif., as an electrical lineman for 34 years. He was a past member of the Elks. He was very passionate about fishing and absolutely loved fishing on LakeHavasu and the ocean.
Clete leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years, Geneva “Genny” Gretter, of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Patricia McDonald, of Ontario, Canada; step-sons, Carl (Pat) Weddle, of Casper, Wyo., Rick (Becky) Weddle, of The Dalles, Ore., and David (Barbara) Weddle, of Snyder, Texas; step-daughter, LaeLonnie Boughton, of Sparks, Nev.; sisters, Teresa Navarro, of Los Alamitos, Calif., and Loretta Hope, of Long Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; 34 step-grandchildren and 33 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
