CARNEVALE, Nicolino


Nicolino Carnevale, 89, passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. with his family by his side on Monday, September 6, 2010. He was born on October 8, 1920 in New York, NY. to Carlo and Vita Maria (Scianimanica) Carnevale. Nicolino proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines as well as the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1945. He married his wife, Emilie, on August 1, 1947 in New Orleans, LA. Nicolino was a businessman, master baker and an excellent cook. Over the course of his long career he owned businesses in New Orleans, San Diego, Las Vegas and, most notably, Nicolino and Sons Italian Bakery, Deli & Restaurant in Palm Springs, CA., where it was relocated to Cathedral City and is family run to this day. Nicolino was a true restaurateur and consultant and was very instrumental in developing new and innovative food products and designs within the bakery and food industry. In 1988, Nicolino, Emilie and son Mike relocated to Lake Havasu City to enjoy the lake, and purchased Alice's Pizza soon converting it into another successful venture named Nicolino's Italian Restaurant at the corner of Smoketree and Swanson. He then opened Nicolino’s Bakery on Mulberry. After 13 successful years he retired. Nicolino is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Emilie Carnevale of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; brother, Mike Carnevale of San Diego; sons, Michael (Kimberly) Carnevale and Mark (Rhonda) Carnevale; grandchildren, Karrie, Michael B., Dominic and Nicolino; great grandchildren, Tyler, Michael A., Ryan, Samuel, Kaylie, Courtney and Sophie Lyn. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Roy and sisters Polly and Phyllis. Nicolino was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
