Dorothy Mae Snyder, 80, passed away at her home in Lake Havasu City, AZ., with her family by her side, on Monday, August 30, 2010. She was born on March 31, 1930 in Somerset County, PA. to Clyde E. and Mary Jane (Riley) Bowser. Dorothy married her husband, who preceded her in death in October 2000, on January 01, 1947 in Stoystown, PA. She was a devout Christian and shared her faith with those she met. She attended the Beaver, PA. Christian Missionary Alliance Church until she was physically able to do so. When she could no longer attend church she would listen to Christian TV and Radio programs and would always welcome a visiting Pastor or Chaplain. She lived in Pennsylvania most of her life until moving to Arizona with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Unions of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Joiners of America from 1954-1993. She recently moved to Lake Havasu City 9 months ago, coming from Vanport, PA., where she resided for 17 years. After courageously battling an extended illness, Dorothy was cared for by New Hope Hospice of Lake Havasu City, while remaining home with her daughter and son-in-law and her newest best friend, the family pet; a cocker spaniel named "Row Dee" who faithfully checked on "gram" to make sure she was OK. Dorothy will be deeply missed. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Jim) Krznar of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; son, Roger (Debbie) Snyder of Erie, PA.; brothers, Clyde Bowser of New Brighton, PA., Kenny (Dolly) Bowser of Beaver Falls, PA., Leonard (Peggy) Bowser of Stahlstown, PA., Fred (Arnell) Bowser of Steubenville, OH, Carl (Lulu) Bowser of Brighton, PA. and Ronald Bowser of Beaver Falls, PA.; grandchildren, Tracy and Jill Krznar, Michael Krznar, Matthew Krznar and Jamie Krznar; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jacob, Kevin and Keith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edgar Snyder, parents, Edgar and Mary Jane Bowser, sisters, Vera Dorusha, Thelma Hollis and Helen "Sis" Lebrel. Interment took place at Beaver Cemetery in Beaver, PA. Memorial service will be held at Beaver Alliance Church, 490 College Ave., Beaver, PA. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Reverend William E. Hazlett officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dorothy's name to the Beaver Alliance Church, 490 College Ave., Beaver, PA. 15009. (Published by Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory)
