Marvin D. Layton, 80, of Kingman passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in Kingman. He was born Nov. 9, 1929.
Marvin spent most of his life overcoming obstacles. He was not in good health and his family lived far away, but Marvin always enjoyed people and enjoyed the fellowship he discovered at Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center. For many years, Marvin tended the flowers and watered the trees, and met friend after friend. Labeled "The Cookie Monster," Marvin could be found often reading the paper and having coffee and cookies at the Adult Center.
Marvin loved helping others and being independent, even when it was hard for him. People were caring and Marvin cared right back. When Marvin is remembered, people will smile and that would make Marvin happy. He will be very truly missed.
There will be a memorial gathering from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the KHAC. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be sent to KHAC, 1776 Airway Ave., Kingman, AZ 86409-3677.
