Deborah Langstaff
Deborah (Deb) was born in Fontana, Calif., Dec. 11, 1986, and her life was sadly taken from her here in Lake Havasu City Aug. 29, 2010.
Deb resided in Redlands, Calif., until 1999 when she relocated to Lake Havasu City. In her senior year, Deb was concurrently enrolled at both the high school and community college. She graduated in 2004 and was on the principal’s honor roll. Next she enrolled in the nursing program and graduated in 2006 as a registered nurse. Deb continued her education and graduated from Grand Canyon College in 2010, receiving her BA degree.
She has been employed at the Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center for the past five years. Deb was recently promoted to clinical nurse supervisor of the med/surgical unit on the second floor. She loved her career, caring for patients and working with the staff. Deb was driven to be successful and has accomplished great goals in her short life of 23 years. What a shame to have lost such a wonderful person with such great love and compassion. She had so much more to give if not for this tragic event.
Deb was a very loving and devoted mother to her two children, Kaia Rose Diez and Cole Anthony Diez. She spent time with her sister doing many things together with their children. They walked them in the Channel, played at the park, and went to the bounce. Whenever she would pick up the kids from the baby sitter, when she walked in, they yelled mommy in joy and ran to her. Deb would get down on the floor and play with them until she wore them or herself out. Every Friday, friends came to her house to visit and play games so she wouldn’t have to take them to a sitter. Deb and the children loved going to the beach to swim and play in the sand and also go boating and feeding the ducks.
Deborah leaves behind her beautiful daughter, Kaia Rose, 4, and her handsome son, Cole Anthony, 14 months. She is survived by her mother, Gina James, of Lake Havasu City; her father, Charles Langstaff, of Lake Havasu City; her sister, Kristen Langstaff-Shakely (Shaun), of Lake Havasu City; her brother, Michael James, of Redmond, Ore.; maternal grandparents, Ken and Barb Bishman, of Lake Havasu City; Jack and Brenda Cowell, of Lake Havasu City; paternal grandparents, Jack Langstaff, of La Palma, Calif., and Virginia Cox, of Redlands, Calif.; her nephew, Brody Shakely, of Lake Havasu City. Deb has many aunts, uncles and cousins including her namesake, Aunt Debbie Guindon, of Redlands, Calif.
Deborah touched the lives of many people and will forever be missed.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been established for the children at Wells Fargo Bank, 1601 McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 in the name of Langstaff/Diez Memorial Account.
Services for Deborah will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Bridgeview Room located on the bottom level of Shugrue’s.
