Kenneth Jack Boshoven, of Lake Havasu City, went home to be with his Lord Aug. 23, 2010, in Severn, Md. He had come to Maryland seeking treatment for metastatic liver cancer from the bladder.
Kenneth was born Nov. 8, 1928, to John T. and Mary Boshoven in Grand Rapids, Mich. His brother, Marvin and Martina Boshoven, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and several nieces and nephews from around that area survive him.
He was in the Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953, and attended Grand Rapids Junior College for three years, which included one year of fireman training.
He was with the Grand Rapids Fire Department for 40 years. He retired in 1989 and moved with his wife, Alexandra, to Lake Havasu City where he lived for more than 20 years.
He was married to Alexandra Ruth Lamper, who died in 2005 after 42 years of marriage.
He will be missed greatly by his family; Jack and Kathy, Julie and Katie, of Maryland, David and Deanna, Libby, Cate, Will and Drew, of California, Anne, of California; and Daniel Boshoven, of Arizona. He also leaves some very special friends and his faithful dog, Ben.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 18 at Bethany Bible Church and is open to all who would like to attend. Bethany is located at 1200 Park Terrace Ave., LHC, AZ 86404.
A Boshoven Memorial Fund is setup at the church if you wish to donate in lieu of flowers.
