The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona~ September 20, 2007 Betty L. McDermott, 84, of Coolidge died at home Sept. 15, 2007. Betty was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Kansas City, Miss., to Rev. Earl and Burtis Ward. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and former chairman of the American Red Cross of Navajo and Apache counties. She is survived by her son, George E. Decker (Susan) of Coolidge, daughter Judith (Jim) D. Crowther of Taylor and sister Beverly L. Dobell of Willcox. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert C. Ward. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Presbyterian Church in Coolidge with Pastor Randy Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park in Coolidge. Arrangements entrusted to Simes Mortuaries Coolidge Chapel.
