Hazel A. Hanson, 70, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at the Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix.
She was born May 15, 1937, to William Troy and Helen (MacDaniel) Hanson in Overgaard. She was affectionately known as the "first baby of Overgaard" as she was the first baby born there.
She graduated from high school in Winslow and worked in food service throughout her life. She was a member of the Heber Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and served as a Relief Society teacher.
She was an expert seamstress and made several of her children's clothes. She also enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful doilies for her family and friends.
Hazel is survived by two her sons, Troy Lee Van Cleave and Trenton Dale Van Cleave; one daughter, Darla Rae Zuck; five grandchildren, Clinton Van Cleave, Darrell Willis, Daniel Courtois, Starla Willis and Nick Van Cleave; great-grandson Xavier Jones; sister Joni Chisum; niece Stephanie Rife; and grand-nieces Davi, Charla, Shelby, Sheena and Danni.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Troy "Junior" Hanson.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Heber Cemetery.
