PADILLA, Jeanne Combs


Jeanne Combs Padilla went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2010. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Jeanne was born on March 23, 1933 in Hazard, Kentucky moving to Tucson in 1952 and made her life here. She worked in the retail trade gracing several companies with her exuberant smile and exemplary work ethic. Jeanne was also active in her labor union and it is no surprise she passed on Labor Day. Jeanne had a knack for making people feel like family and had a big heart that was always giving to others. She enjoyed cooking, politics, crossword puzzles, her beloved Dallas Cowboys, but first and foremost her family, which was the center of her world. A loving and devoted mother to, Ernestina Padilla (Jerry), Joy Crum (Tom), Dawn Gallagher (Pat), Alicia Padilla-Stark (Jim), Michele Ternes (Eduard) and Ernest Padilla. In addition, Jeanne is survived by her ten beautiful grandchildren and ten beautiful great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Alcala, Jacqueline Fee and Marilyn. Jeanne is preceded in death by her dear sister, Alice Leoni. A Service celebrating Jeanne's life will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME, 3081 W. Orange Grove Road. A reception will follow at the home of Jim and Alicia Stark. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations go to Casa de la Luz Hospice, Tucson, AZ or the Susan G.
