Yuriko Miki Yamasaki on Thursday morning, September 9, 2010, at La Canada Care Center, 87 year old Yuriko returned to nature and the beautiful flower beds she lovingly tendered. Yuriko was born on May 4, 1923 in Palo Verdes, California the youngest of five sisters.
When she was stationed at the Poston Japanese Relocation Camp, she met and married the love of her life of 63 years, Kay Kunso Yamasaki. They had four children, Kenneth, Larry, Christine and Joanne. Yuriko was the glue that held her family together. She was a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother and a wonderful grandmother. She enjoyed taking pictures of her family. Yuriko loved gardening, watching baseball and cheering on the "Wildcats." She was also a devoted member of her church.
Her grandchildren, Kimberly, Noah and Tara, Keeley and Sean and her four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Dylan, Meriah and Italia will always remember her kind and comical nature. This loving lady will be greatly missed by her family. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 12, 2010 at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.
